In order to create an effective podcast, students need to learn how to make their stories engaging and use sound to put their listeners into the aural environment of their story. They can accomplish this through music, sound effects or sounds gathered from the environment of their story. This workshop plan familiarizes students with podcasting software, such as Audacity or Garageband, followed by creating a simple, personal podcast recording. (Requires a download of Audacity (preferred) or GarageBand; headphones with mics attached are preferred or headphones and external microphones needed for each user.)
