Thank You Eileen Fisher & Your Customers For Your Support of TechGirlz

At the King of Prussia store

We talked with TechGirlz Founder, Tracey Welson-Rossman, about the Eileen Fisher Day of Charity and the company’s support of TechGirlz.

What was the Eileen Fisher Day of Charity?
Eileen Fisher, the company, has each of its stores pick a charity. On one day, this year was March 21st, 10% of the profits from that day’s sales are given to that charity. If you can’t make it to a store, you could also buy online and the chosen charities are listed for the customer to select.

How/Why was TechGirlz chosen by the King of Prussia, PA, Ardmore, PA and Westfield, NJ stores? The stores wanted to give to an organization that worked with girls. They found us through a google search!

How much was raised during the Day of Charity?
Between in-store sales at the King of Prussia, Ardmore and Westfield stores and online sales where customers choose TechGirlz as their charity of choice, over $14,000 was raised. (Thank you Eileen Fisher and your awesome customers!)

What is the importance of companies like Eileen Fisher supporting TechGirlz?
Donations like these help us create more curricula for our girls. It also helps us with other budget items, like marketing, which allows us to tell more people about how they can use our curricula to teach more girls about technology. This particular donation will be funding a new position at TechGirlz, Community Development Manager.

What was the reaction of shoppers when they learned about TechGirlz? The customers loved the program. I went to two of the stores to meet some of the customers, and they were incredibly supportive and eager to learn more about what TechGirlz does and the impact we have.

How can other companies or organizations support TechGir lz? Companies can support TechGirlz through donations or sponsorships, but also by teaching one of our TechShopz in a Box.
