Working in a TV Studio
Event run by La Salle TV.
What does it take to put together a TV show? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll find out by working in the La Salle TV studio to create a “live” program using our script, graphics, and video. We’ll introduce you to all the equipment that makes a show possible and demonstrate how to use those tools. Then, it will be your turn. Maybe you’ll be in the studio, setting up the shots as camera operator or reading from the teleprompter as talent. Perhaps you’ll be in the control room, adjusting the sound with the audio board or running the teleprompter for the host to read. You could be in charge of it all as the director calling the shots!
This workshop is open to girls at all levels of experience with video production. You will work with the college students who staff La Salle TV along with the station manager. In addition to practicing an entire show script, we’ll also have you produce some segments that will air on our regular programs! (If you don’t have Philadelphia cable, no worries. You can catch your work on our YouTube channel.)
La Salle’s Communication Center is accessible by Septa Broad Street line. Parking available on campus. Location will be marked with balloons. Materials and snacks will be provided.
Please send an email to Tonya Ellis if you have any questions. Thanks!
