  • Using Computer Simulations to Help Solve Complex Problems

    March 28 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

All Virtual Events are Scheduled/Run in Eastern Time. Click Here for a time zone converter.

    Event run by TAB.

Complex systems are all around us from a flock of birds creating beautiful patterns, to the spread of diseases to understanding and protecting ecosystems. Computer simulations are a great tool scientists use to understand complex systems.

In this class, you will learn about computer simulations and create your own simulations of an epidemic and what factors make it spread faster or stop. We will be using the online tool StarLogo Nova to create the simulations.

Students will need access to a computer (sorry, no Chromebooks) and internet. Please create a free StarLogo Nova (https://www.slnova.org/) account prior to the event. Handouts to download: https://tinyurl.com/MLHA1 and https://tinyurl.com/HALM2

Please send an email to Amy if you have any questions. Thanks!
