Makey Makey, Scratch Coding, & Play Doh! Oh My!
Registration will close on 2/10
Event run by Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs
Learn how to code your own game and create your own working game controller using everyday household items and food! In this workshop, students will use a Makey Makey Inventor’s kit to build a custom keyboard out of unconventional conductive materials, such as fruit and Play-Doh. Students will then pair their keyboard with the game created in Scratch programming in order to connect the digital and physical world. No prior experience necessary!
Hosted at the new Comcast Technology Center, home to Comcast’s growing workforce as well as NBC10 and Telemundo62, this workshop will allow your child to learn alongside female professionals. Join us in the pursuit of an equal opportunity workforce!
Please create a free Scratch account prior to the workshop.
Take escalator to the front desk. Valid government/student ID required for security and guest pass. The Workshop is hosted on the 4th floor (access from the furthest elevator bay). Please bring a laptop if you have one. Snacks will be provided.
Please send an email to Jane McConnell if you have any questions. Thanks!
