Make an Animated Bracelet with Micro:bit
February 13 @ 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Event sponsored by First Flight Venture Center and run by TechGirlz. Please email Ruth Willenborg with any questions. Thank you!
In 2017, every 7th grader in the UK was given a tiny programmable computer to help them learn coding. So what is this small, affordable technology called? A micro:bit!
In this workshop, students will use the micro:bit’s drag and drop interface, MakeCode, to learn how to code the device. Students will walk through the various features of a micro:bit and learn how the code they create can activate animation, temperature sensing, radio buttons and motion sensors. Students will also design and make their own animated bracelet.
Note: Please bring a laptop. Snacks will be provided. There is a circular driveway in front of building that can be used to drop off/pickup. Additional parking around building.
Schedule: A tour of Hangar6, Research Triangle region’s premier prototyping and design assistance space for technology-based companies, will begin promptly at 5:10 PM. Workshop instruction to follow.
