Congratulations to Pranshu Suri, a TechGirlz alum and Teen Advisory Board member, for being selected as the Grand Prize winner of the SWENext and Northrop Grumman 2016 High School Community Award. The competition was open to all high school students in the Greater Philadelphia area, and the students were asked to submit a video/essay on a problem in their community, presenting a solution using STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Pranshu’s entry was largely computer science and engineering based and aimed to bridge the education gap. Out of the entries submitted, the top 25 entries were selected as winners and one out of top 25 was selected to receive the Grand Prize Award. The winners of the competition received admission to The Society of Women Engineers’ Invent It, Build It convention for high school students. They were also invited to the Northrop Grumman sponsored Women Defining the Future Luncheon at the Philadelphia Convention Center. During the luncheon, Pranshu was recognized as the Grand Prize winner of the competition.
