Who We Are

About TechGirlz

TechGirlz is a nonprofit program of Creating IT Futures, a 501(c)3 nonprofit of CompTIA, that inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. TechGirlz is accomplishing its mission through the creation of free, fun, interactive “TechShopz” led by industry professionals, community leaders, and students.

We share our free workshop curriculum with companies, organizations, schools and community groups so they can inspire girls around the world with technology.

Our vision is to create a world where girls have a lifelong passion and confidence in their use of technology throughout their careers.

What We Offer

TechShopz are free, hands-on technology workshops for middle school girls. There are 50 topics to choose including coding, movie editing, jewelry design, digital marketing, cybersecurity, and more!

TechShopz in a Box™ are free workshop plans, documents, and guides based on TechGirlz’ tried-and-true workshops. They make it easy for anyone, anywhere to run a hands-on workshop for middle school girls.

TechGirlz provides free access to our lesson plans for TechShopz, but did you know that you can also group TechShopz together to create a fun and exciting camp program? Browse some of our Summer Camp topics!

Teens make great volunteers! They can assist at workshops that are already scheduled to run at local libraries and community centers or they can organize and lead a workshop at their local middle school. Find our more about getting involved as a teen.

Inspire and empower the next generation of women in tech by volunteering with TechGirlz! Build your marketable skills like public speaking, teaching and tech know-how, and expand your network while volunteering with others in the tech industry.

Chosen at the start of each school year, our Teen Advisory board is a group of energetic teens from around the country who meet together (virtually and in-person) to help advise TechGirlz on future topics as well as working together to lead their own workshops.
