With 15 days remaining, we are still sprinting toward our goals! 200 racers from all over the world are competing and helping us spread awareness of TechGirlz. Since the race started on March 21, we’ve completed (way ahead of schedule!) the 9,300 mile race course connecting 20 U.S. tech hubs.
Thanks to nearly 100 donors, we are halfway to our goal of $10,000! Donations ranging from $10 to $700 are helping us develop new topics, host more tech workshops for middle school girls, and offer scholarships to our Entrepreneur Summer Camp.
Beyond raising money, our objective is reaching a wider audience with our free TechShopz in a Box™ curriculum.
71 teams will continue to race against each other through April 30th, logging their miles, cheering each other on, and donating to TechGirlz through Racery. (Based in Durham, the Racery platform powers multi-week races on virtual routes using athlete’s normal training miles. Racery increases motivation and community for racers, fundraising for charities, and engagement for businesses.)
Thanks to the enthusiastic recruiting efforts of Deirdre Clarke (leader of Triangle TechGirlz), Henry Copeland (Racery CEO), and Kayla Moore (Racery Product Manager) – there is an AMAZING turnout of teams from North Carolina tech companies: Adzerk, Bandwidth, BlogAds, Bronto Software, IBM, NC State Industry Expansion Solutions, Netsertive, Oracle, Pendo, Spoonflower, Stone Temple Consulting, Red Hat, and SAS Institute. Thanks to all our racers in the RTP area of North Carolina!
Philly has great representation, too, from Chariot Solutions; The Junior League of Philadelphia; and BuLogics (a tech company with nearly 50% female employees) that has raised over $1,000! IntuitSolutions has formed five teams, logged over 550 miles, AND the CEO is donating $1 per mile!
So far, eight racers have each raised more than $200 a piece! Now is your chance to help us reach our $10,000 goal and cheer on these racers and others! Please donate $50 now and then share this URL with your friends, colleagues and family.
