Nonprofit dedicated to inspiring girls to pursue technology appoints PointSource Chief Digital Officer and COO as advisor
TechGirlz, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls to be future technology leaders, has appointed Stephanie Trunzo, Chief Digital Officer and Chief Operating Officer of PointSource, as a new Advisory Board member.
Dedicated to reducing the gender gap in the technology industry, TechGirlz focuses on educating girls about the opportunities for a career in technology from a young age. Through fun and educational workshops, middle-school age girls are given exposure to different kinds of technology and are able to connect with professionals in the respective fields. TechGirlz also empowers future leaders in technology through the annual Entrepreneur Summer Camp, an intensive week-long day camp.
TechGirlz appoints a small handful of advisory board members to partner with the organization in reaching young girls with the tools they need to start a career in technology. Selected from key leaders in technology, Stephanie was presented with the honor of joining the TechGirlz Advisory Board this October.
“Having dedicated my own career to technology, and as a mother to a 9 year old girl fascinated with building and making, I know the importance of encouraging young girls to explore careers in tech,” says Ms. Trunzo. “By giving young girls the right guidance and support, they learn that career opportunities in tech are wide open — and most importantly the value and merit of their work is of more professional interest than their gender.”
Stephanie collaborates with clients such as Finish Line, PTC and LabCorp to explore the user journey and craft transformative digital strategies. Prior to her role at PointSource, Stephanie spent 13 years at IBM, where she ran a worldwide development organization for the IBM Rational Jazz Platform, a data-driven integration platform. Stephanie also has deep business analytics skills, having architected the first development intelligence Executive Dashboard used to drive measured improvement and managed the first Information Architecture team at IBM. This passion for new and exciting technology will contribute to Stephanie’s new role as TechGirlz Advisor.
As a company, PointSource is committed to giving back to the community and investing in young people and the future of technology, aligning with the TechGirlz mission and Stephanie’s role as an advisor.
