Hundreds of 7th through 9th grade young women attend ‘Techgirlz’ conference in Canyon County

CALDWELL, Idaho — According to data from Status of Women , only about 22 percent of those working in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields in Idaho are women.

To empower Idaho girls to pursue careers in STEM, the College of Idaho hosted roughly 300 middle school girls today from schools in Canyon County and surrounding areas to partake in a hands-on conference called Techgirlz, organized by the nonprofit Women Innovators (WiN) and supported by Micron and others.
