More than 20 female students from New Hope-Solebury High School visited AWeber in Chalfont on December 8. Together, AWeber and TechGirlz hosted an “Interactive Computing with Makey Makey” workshop that was taught by AWeber lady team members. The workshop kicked off “Hour of Code” Week, a national initiative offering the opportunity for students all over the country to try their hand at a computer science class for an hour.
TechGirlz is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that aims to bridge the gender gap in the STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math by introducing adolescent girls to technology. The joint workshop with AWeber was aimed at providing an interactive
experience involving different kinds of technology and enabling participants to interact with women who have carved out successful careers in technology fields.
