The Capitol Women’s Network and Capitol Broadcasting Company are teaming up with TechGirlz to host a free TechGirlz workshop that’s all about newsroom production.

The free session, designed for girls who are rising sixth graders to eighth graders, will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 9, at WRAL-TV on Western Boulevard in Raleigh.

During the workshop, girls will have an opportunity to hear from a panel of women in different positions at CBC and tour the newsroom. They’ll also learn how to produce great stories in the same way that collaborative newsrooms work with pre-production, production, and post-production. Using mobile devices, students will learn techniques to produce photo and video content.

This event is currently full and collecting a waitlist! Be sure to join our mailing list and keep an eye on our Upcoming Events page for future TechGirlz workshops in the Raleigh area.
